Have a great time with us learning to make Cow's Milk Feta with Emlyn Crocker. This is a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a simple home-made cheese you can make in your own kitchen. Feta takes several (2-4) weeks to mature, and the workshop will walk us through the beginning and ending stages of this process. Each participant will leave with some of their own fresh, delicious cow's milk feta cheese.

Making soft cheese is not complicated, and experimenting with making your own cheese is one of the more enjoyable things a kitchen-craft wizard can do.  Making soft cheeses from scratch is easy, but is best learned with an experienced guide because cheese making is as much of an art as it is a skill!

Emlyn Crocker works with Nature Up North at St. Lawrence University. Originally from Plainfield Vermont, she developed a love for cheese-making after studying on St. Lawrence University’s Adirondack Semester in 2012, when she interned for several weeks at Birdsfoot Farm, where they care for an organic cow. Today, one of her favorite hobbies is cheese-making, and she has experience making yogurt, kefir, butter, mozzarella, chevre, yogurt cheese and Swiss cheese.

 *  $27 general public, $50 couple/family rate for two people, $18 student is requested to benefit Local Living Venture workshop creation.
*   Donations can be made by cash or check to "Local Living Venture" and will be collected on site during registration. Scholarship, less material costs, available upon request.
*   Please note that our generous Presenters are volunteers donating their time to support the Local Living Venture, and this is a major means of support for our community organization.
