Chemical Free Living * A Make-n-Take
Sunday, April 29
3 to 5 pm
UU Church, Canton, NY (RSVP is needed for materials purchase, see To Register below.)
Cat Bennett is a second-generation small-scale, organic farmer on her family's land in Depeyster, following in her family's footsteps by striving to rejuvenate the ecosystem in which she lives. Inspired by Environmental Health classes on pollutants that affect amphibians, she has been exploring ways to decrease the toxins she both absorbs herself and sends out into the waterways. She has done in-depth studies on the uses of chemicals and dyes used in home and personal care products as well as plant-based versus synthetic SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulfate) and more. As a special bonues, all attendees will receive a recipe for an inexpensive laundry soap!
Cat's mom Ann may also try to join us to share her experiences with simple living and the use of essential oils, too! They both love to share how and why we should avoid all of those chemicals, especially in our homes and for items we use on our bodies!
Is needed in order to prepare enough materials for the chemical free items we'll be creating.
