drop by between 1 to 4 pm

A mostly light rain is forecast and will not hinder us - wear your barn boots and bring your parasol!

Local Living Venture and the Pollinator Protection Program are co-sponsoring an educational Pollinator Habitat Tour with Hawkshaw Apiaries in Madrid, NY.

OPEN HOUSE / TOUR DETAILS
For many seasons, Bill and Paige have been developing their little bit of paradise, with bees and the foodstuffs they produce at the heart of it all.

Attendees will gain knowledge during these tours about pollinator-friendly and medicinal flowers, raised bed gardening, beekeeping, mead-making and much more!

OUR HOSTS
Hawkshaw Apiaries consists of 20 acres of organic land surrounded by 400 acres of woods and grass.  They plant continuous blooming flowers for pollinators and for their medicinal properties.  Hawkshaw honey from their apiaries is pure and natural, not to be missed!

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
Hawkshaw Apiaries
4147 CR 14
2 miles East of intersection of 345 and 14 in downtown Madrid (note: previous info given was incorrect)
Madrid, NY 13660
From Potsdam, go out 345 and go over the bridge to the stop sign in downtown Madrid.  Take a R to stay on 345 but then do not take the immediate L turn that you normally would to continue on 345, instead go straight for about 2 miles on Rt. 14.  Hawkshaw Apiaries is on the left and has a red windmill.

DONATION
*  For this unique learning experience, a free-will donation (suggested $5-10 per person, but none will be pressured or turned away) is greatly appreciated to benefit Local Living Venture non-profit workshop creation.
*  Participants will go home with an envelope of northern-hardy, pollinator-friendly wildflower seeds - to begin or add to your own perennial gardenscape.
*  Donations can be made by cash or check to "Local Living Venture" and will be collected on site or can be mailed to LLV, PO Box 736, Canton NY (please note "Pollinator Open House.")
*  Please note that our generous Presenters are volunteers donating their time to support the Local Living Venture, and this is a major means of support for our community organization.

REGISTRATION IS WELCOME
Walk-in's are very welcome, but registered attendees will be added to our mailing list and advised of rain postponements, etc.
As of Thursday's forecast, postponement is unlikely...it's the North Country, a little light rain or snow never stops us! :-)
Rain is forecast to be at 13% probablility for most of the Open House hours, so bring your wellies!
To register and get on our mailing list, contact us at LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com.
Please share your name, number in party, email address and phone number where we can reach you that day in the unlikely event of postponement.

This event is part of a series for the collaborative Pollinator Protection program (be a Pollinator Pal!)
Please join our efforts to make the St. Lawrence County region a refuge for Pollinators!
