Pruning Your Apple Trees & Other Orchard Fruits * Hands-On

Curious about how and when to prune your apple (or other fruit) trees?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Join the Local Living Venture and Presenter David Rice of Sweet Core Farm to learn valuable tips for caring for your own fruit trees. He will focus on a "central leader style" that attendees can feel comfortable implementing on their own trees.

David will cover topics such as: choosing and caring for pruning tools, pruning lingo as well as improving orchard quality and fruit health. He will also briefly cover special care for pruning neglected trees and training your apple trees. Participants can take these new skills home and begin work on their own trees while the season is upon us.

This hardy workshop involves some "hands on" activity so we encourage attendees to dress appropriately Tools that are clean and sharp are needed (long handled pruning shears are a plus.)  Some tools will be available on site for those without.

More than just a light drizzle of rain or snow will postpone the workshop, though small amounts of precipitation will not.  This workshop is weather dependent and attendance is limited.  We will contact all attendees that morning in event of a rain date postponement.
