Our coalition did the TEXTILE RECOVERY CAMPAIGN
last November - this May it's
COLLEGE MOVE OUT DAYS!

More TEXTILE and HOUSEHOLD item reclamation can happen with your help, with this free training session!

Thursday, April 30 9 am – 2 pm
Human Services Center, 2nd Floor Conference Center
80 State Highway 310, near Rt. 11, Canton, NY
(please see TO REGISTER at the bottom of this page)

Reclaim and recycle thousands of items that would otherwise go to landfill - both year-round at proposed collection sites in St. Lawrence County and also as part of special collection drives such as the upcoming College Move Out Days campaign in May, 2015!

Let's help ensure that their trash turns into treasure every time the colleges let out for the Summer.  Some schools have plans for re-use already in place and will join forces with us, others are getting their first experience with this type of event - help us to make it a success!

The hands-on training you receive in this conference can be put to good use in organizing this re-use event and others like it in the future. We need volunteers!
Come learn, have fun, and help out.

Sponsored by NERC, DANC, St. Lawrence County Solid Waste Dept., St. Lawrence County EMC and the Local Living Venture.  See links provided below for details.

The North Country Re-Use Training event is a gathering for concerned citizens, community activists, decision makers, municipal staff, nonprofit organizations, schools, and others!

Join us if you are interested in sharing and learning about re-use programs and the role re-use plays in reducing waste and benefiting our communities.

  Topics include
· Re-use program design & implementation
Ongoing (e.g., material exchanges, reuse sheds)
  Special events (e.g., toy swaps)
Targeted materials: textiles, household goods, toys/children’s items, electronics, etc.
