Costume Contest!
         Dress as your favorite pollinator!  (or not! but, hey, it'll be fun!)
        
Win pollinator themed prizes!

4 pm   Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us?  

Viewing of the acclaimed film that shares a profoundly different view of the global bee crisis, weaving an unusual and dramatic story of the heartfelt struggles of beekeepers, scientists and philosophers from around the world.  Video clip

6 to 8 pm   Demo's, Exhibitions, Presentations, Music & Great Food!

Visit Demo Beehives!

      Learn to build homes and habitat for our local pollinators
      Information on what you need to start keeping bees in your own backyard and about disease and parasites
Honey Harvesting Demonstrations!
      Harvest honey from the comb, see a variety of products that are made from bees wax
      Network with local beekeepers and get their take on the joys and challenges of beekeeping!
      Local beekeepers are invited to bring honey (bulk, comb, or in the frame) for sale as part of a honey co-op!
Brief presentations by Bug Lovers!
      Including display examples of a wide variety of pollinators in our area
      Learn how you can help create space on your land that is dedicated to pollinators

Delicious Honey-based Food from PACES Thatcher Hall Dining Services!
     
Sample delicious recipes made from local honey by dedicated PACES Chefs Amy Conger and John Van Kennen.
Musical Guests!
      The Northern Southern Old Time Society band wil provide a great ambience of fun bluegrass tunes!

Stowell Hall / WISER Greenhouse
SUNY Potsdam (#8 on campus map)
- directly across from the Barrington Student Union & college store
- orange & white LLV 'Workshop Site' signs will be posted to guide you

Parking is available in Lot 9 on the campus Parking Map.
Pollinator-costumed parking attendants will be on site to direct you!
Parking tickets should not be issued, but if they are, turn them to us to be invalidated (for Lot 9 only.)
Some Handicap Accessible spots are available directly between Stowell Hall and the Barrington Student Union in Lot 10 on the map above, for blue handicap placard holders only.

SUGGESTED DONATION
This event is free of charge and open to the pubic.
Donation pails will be available to make free-will donations to benefit Local Living Venture Pollinator Protection programming.
WISER Center events are always free for SUNY students.

We collaborate in presenting these life-long learning events with generous community members who have skills and knowledge to share.


The Local Living Venture is coordinated entirely by volunteers.
