This fall the Village of Canton will host a tree planting workshop to help improve the urban and community forest at the Bend in the River Park. This event will be an opportunity for the whole family to gain hands on experience with proper tree selection, planting techniques, and how to maintain and care for your tree into the future.

After a short educational session lead by Paul Hetzler, Horticulture & Natural Resources Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension, participants will break into groups and practice their new skills at planting trees in the park.

Light refreshments will be served. Come out and help us plant some trees!

RSVP: If you would like to learn more about this free event or want to let us know you plan on attending, give the St. Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District a call at (315) 386-3582.

Presented by the St. Lawrence County Soil and Water Conservation District in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension, The Canton Tree Committee, The Village of Canton Department of Public Works, and the St. Lawrence County Emerald Ash Borer Task Force.
