This method is beneficial for ALL AGES and types of beginning skier -- with a focus especially on the older athlete, though young and old will benefit!

If you want to join us, please email us at with your phone number(s) so we can hold your space. Please let us know if you would like to bring a friend so we can plan properly.

Direct Parallel "Shaped" Skiing for Beginners
Sunday, March 15, 1 - 3 pm

Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration.

Yes, bring your skis, whether 'straight' or 'shaped', if you have them. If you do not have skis and boots, please try to bring a set of poles to get the most out of this session.
Direct Parallel "Shaped" Skiing requires less demand on your body. You do not have to unlearn the wedge & stem method, and you will find that Bill’s teaching technique will be easy to understand -- he will tailor assignments so that you can improve your skills and be able to use the design of a shaped ski as it is intended.

Warning on GPS: Either use the coordinates provided at this site or verify with a paper map!   If you plan to use mobile mapping devices, please allow extra time for the rural snafu's they encounter, such as not distinguishing between a town and a village of the same name. You may also print out or use a real County Map and note these instructions above, being sure to look for our orange "Workshop Site" lawn signs.

There is plenty of space to park in the parking area of the driveway.

Please bring shaped skis, boots and poles. Older style skis will work too.  If you don't have skis & boots, bring some poles. This is an outdoor event so please dress accordingly, in layers that can be removed as you warm up, and wear appropriate foot wear and ski clothing to tackle potential deep snow.

In the event of weather that interferes with the workshop, we will contact you at the number we show for you in the Subject line of this email - at least one hour prior to the start of the workshop if we are canceling for the day.

Jackie’s home number is 315-353-8804. Email sent in the 24-36 hours prior to the event may not be read in time, FYI, so please both call and write if it's getting close to the event.

If you have any other questions please just ask. We look forward to seeing you there!
