A hands-on, make-n-take event ~ leave with a plugged log, instructions, and the knowledge to start your own delicious fungal forest!

SATURDAY, May 7
, 10 am to 3 pm
Attendance limit of 15 participants!
Join our generous volunteer Presenter Bob Wagner on the first sunny weekend in May to learn about raising gourmet quality Shiitake mushrooms. We will extract hardwood logs from the surrounding forest, a feat that will require work gloves and appropriate clothes. Then we will inoculate them with commercial plug spawn. We will seal the holes with wax, and go back into the woods to lay them up according to tradition. Finally, we will enjoy a sampling of fresh Shiitakes.

Limited attendance - you must RSVP for a spot in this very popular workshop - there will be only the one session for 15 participants.

To reserve your spot contact us by phone at (315) 347.4223 or email us (LocalLivingVenture@gmail.com) to RSVP.
Please indicate
* workshop name
* number in party
* phone to reach you that day
* email address.

There is a $40 donation to cover materials, expenses and to benefit the Local Living Venture.

Participants will take home one plugged Shiitake log as part of the workshop fee; an additional log will be available for purchase on a limited basis for $15 each.  Please indicate your interest in an additional log when you RSVP.
