Simple Living Skill-sharing * Potluck Picnic * Timberframe Edition

Simple Living Skill-sharing * Potluck Picnic
Monthly Local Living Venture Gathering!

An old-fashioned timber frame barn raising at Stone Hill Farm near Canton, NY was the result of many helping hands this past Spring. The feat was accomplished using wooden pegs in the hewn timber framework and raised one "bent", or structural component, at a time using ropes and lots of people power.

All are welcome to join us at our monthly gathering!

 Our Hosts
The hosts for the August event are Josh and Tasha Akins at Stone Hill Farm.
They raise a few chickens, pigs and Dexter beef animals. They also tap 500 maple trees, have a small garden,
have just finished building a timber frame barn (which will provide cover in event of inclement weather), and are raising two young children.

 This Event Will Include
A fun *Demonstration* and raffling off of the beautiful handmade

Rocket Cook Stove "summer kitchen" cooker!
Check out this link for details!

A potluck dish to share
- a place card noting the ingredients is helpful to those with food sensitivities/preferences.
A place setting (plate or bowl, fork and knife, cup) if you can (not everyone has place settings for this many guests, and it will save the host and helpers from washing so many dishes!)
A folding chair or camp chair, or picnic blanket, if you have one available - some seating will be provided.
Your good thoughts, questions, and skills to share!
