Home Brewing Basics: Two Methods for 'DIY' Beer

Learn to Brew your own Beer at Home!

~ ~ ~
Learn two different brewing methods and how to bottle your own beer.
~ ~ ~
Sponsored by the IGA Potsdam Supermarket, with a full line of brewing supplies (see below.)

Presenter Eric Dyer is Nature's Storehouse's own experienced home brewer.
In this very hands-on workshop, he will share two basic home brewing methods -- using both malt extract and the more advanced brewing techniques of an all-grain recipe to demonstrate how to set up a grain mash and extraction. We'll be boiling a malt extract recipe throughout the class, so participants can see how to add hops, cool the wort, and pitch yeast. We'll also be bottling a previously made batch of beer so that you have as complete an experience as possible.

PRESENTER BIOGRAPHY
A relative newcomer to the North Country, Eric has been brewing beer for seven years. A few years working the restaurant side of Arbor Brewing Company in Ann Arbor launched his love of craft beer, and he has helped with recipe development for a friend's up and coming brewery in northern Virginia, but the majority of his brewing experience comes from his own kitchen. He taught a 2 part home brewing workshop last fall at Nature's Storehouse, and will be presenting an equivalent set of information here in one longer session.
